Quiet Policy

Where we stand…we allow talking on our buses as long as it is in low tones.
All of our drivers receive extensive training in the best practices of providing customer service, which includes enforcing our quiet policy. This policy is enforced, not only for the comfort of our passengers, but also for the safety of all onboard. Loud conversations can be distracting to the driver.

Our quiet policy is challenging to enforce as it is at the discretion of the driver as to what is considered loud and disruptive. Another challenge we face with this policy is when we have our commuters and customers who are visiting New York on the same bus.

Please keep in mind that talking is not prohibited onboard our buses although we expect our passengers to speak in low tones and keep conversations short and quiet so as not to disturb fellow passengers or the driver. Cellphones should never to put on speaker and music should always be enjoyed using headphones or earbuds.
Passengers may inform the driver to have them make an announcement to the passengers to enforce the quiet policy.

Wingman System

We are pleased to announce our new buses have the Wingman System. This system is an integrated combination of these features: Adaptive Cruise Control with braking, Collision Mitigation Technology (Enhanced), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Traffic Signal Recognition (TSR).

The system combines radar, camera, and the vehicle’s brake system to deliver the best control of the motorcoach. We expect our drivers to follow all rules of the road at all times. If the driver is driving too fast, the system will de-throttle the engine to reduce their speeds. Although we try our best to perform on-time, we do not guarantee arrival or departure times. We this being said, we need our passengers to understand our drivers may be running late due to traffic, following speed limits, or inclement weather. We have buses equipped with the Wingman System for the safety of our passengers, as it will help assist our drivers with any sudden stops, cut-offs or their speeds. We will continue to provide safe equipment to our fleet and continue to purchase buses with this technology.

This system alerts our drivers of potential hazards regarding speed, obstructions, lane changes, etc. Please understand that alerts are in the forms of beeps to let the driver know. It doesn’t mean anything is malfunctioning with the coach or that passengers are in danger.
Update to Reduced Fares with VA Service Connected card
Trans-Bridge follows the New Jersey Transit Reduced-Fare policy, which has been recently updated. We will accept Veterans Affairs cards with service connected designation.

Reduced fares apply to seniors, persons with disabilities and military personnel. These rates are not available on Commuter Book Tickets. They only apply to One-Way Tickets.

Flu & Coronavirus Prevention

With the recent Coronavirus scare and the intensity of the 2019-2020 flu season, it is important to be informed about what recommendations are in place to help prevent the spreading of these viruses.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) states that one of the best defenses against the spread of the flu and other germs is hand hygiene. Wash hands several times a day with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds. Always wash hands before you prepare food, after using the restroom, and before and after caring for anyone with a cold or the flu. Always cough or sneeze into a tissue or flexed elbow. When on the go, use hand sanitizers that have a formula of 60% or greater of alcohol.

Other preventative measures include using common sense logic in avoiding others who are sick, maintaining a clean household and using vitamins and supplements.

Always avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

Savings on Transportation! - New law - NJ Transit.com

As a commuter, you can save up to $900 for your transportation! Governor Phil Murphy signed a bill into law requiring New Jersey employers to offer a pre-tax transportation fringe benefit. This benefit program will go into effect on March 1, 2020.

The parking fee can cost up to an additional $265 per month.

BUSING ON THE LOOKOUT

Busing on the Lookout (BOTL), a program of Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT), exists to educate and equip all members of the bus industry with the information necessary to enable them to fight human trafficking as part of their everyday jobs.
Human trafficking occurs at bus terminals and stops. Victims are often transported by bus. Human Traffickers look for primarily minors and young adults.

RED FLAGS:
• Passengers who are not allowed to speak for self
• Disheveled appearance, agitated, scared/crying
• Minors traveling without adult supervision
• Offers to exchange sex for a ride, meal, etc.
• Does not know the person who is picking them up
• Any acknowledgement of having a pimp or needing to make a quota
• Signs of branding or tattooing (often of trafficker’s name)
